Who We Are…

We are E.K.G.!

1 Thessalonians 2:8 says, ‘we loved you so much that we shared with you not only God’s Good News but our own lives, too.’
Because Jesus cared enough to give his life for us, we want to share our lives with you and with each other as we live each day following Jesus more closely than we did the day before.

When We Meet…

EKG meets every Friday from 6:30pm-9:30pm in the youth hall of First UMC Homestead.
Our bible study group meets on Wednesdays from 6:30pm-7:45pm.
EKG has activities that take place all year long (Skyzone, Color Wars etc) be sure to get connected to our EKG social media sites to stay informed!

What We Do…

EKG is our weekly youth group gathering. We share a meal each week. During meal time we can talk with our peers about our lives and create lasting connections that help us follow Jesus more closely. EKG also allows us an opportunity to worship as a community and to learn together from God’s word. Our small group time helps us take the bible lesson and discuss how to live it out in practical terms. EKG also has time for community building through icebreaker games and activities.

How We Serve…

The youth who are involved with EKG have many opportunities to serve the community of Homestead and our larger community.
Here are just a few of the ways EKG is or has been involved in service:
Sunday School Volunteers
Vacation Bible School Volunteers
Food Pantry Volunteers
Student leadership (teaching at EKG, leading Worship)
Local Mission Projects (like the Easter Egg Hunt for the community)
Domestic Mission Projects (UM Children’s home, Riverside Work Camp)
Mission Projects abroad (Bahama Methodist Habitat)
